Linkin Park Release Unshatter Film Soundtrack
(Warner) Linkin Park release their highly anticipated live album Unshatter Film Soundtrack (Live in Sao Paulo). Recorded in November of 2024, the 20-song set captures a pivotal moment in the band's history as they ring in the release of their first album since reforming - the universally acclaimed From Zero - and embark on what would become their biggest tour ever.
The release follows Linkin Park's thrilling appearance on America's Got Talent Wednesday night, joining teen Thai rock phenom (and noted Linkin Park fan) Nene Royal for a performance of "The Emptiness Machine" that brought the house down and led to her becoming the show's winner.
Alongside the album, LINKIN PARK are sharing another stunning video from the performance: "Waiting for the End (Live in Sao Paulo)". The visual captures the immersive transformation of the hulking Allianz Parque stadium, as well as the already lockstep chemistry of Mike Shinoda and Emily Armstrong at one of their earliest concerts leading the band together. Teary-eyed fans sing along to the hopeful 2010 single, which features a lyric that's become a mantra for LINKIN PARK's followers: "The hardest part of ending is starting again."
Unshatter Film Soundtrack (Live in Sao Paulo) doubles as the official soundtrack to LINKIN PARK: UNSHATTER, an intimate new documentary directed by band member Joe Hahn that heads to theaters worldwide beginning next week, September 30. Following LINKIN PARK's triumphant return to the global stage over the past two years, the cinematic event chronicles the band members' journey through loss, resilience, and creative reinvention up to that point, culminating in the explosive From Zero era.
LINKIN PARK's Brazilian shows are central to the film. The two-night run at the 55,000-capacity venue kicked off November 15, the day of From Zero's release, and featured transcendent performances spanning their entire career. Mixed by frequent collaborator Neal Avron and including songs not seen in the movie, Unshatter Film Soundtrack (Live in Sao Paulo) offers up not only the first official live versions of LINKIN PARK's recent songs, but the first recordings of the band's beloved back catalog brought to life with Armstrong and drummer Colin Brittain.
Fans were previously treated to a handful of videos from the album, including for Meteora era hits "Somewhere I Belong" and "Faint" [2003], Minutes to Midnight's "What I've Done" [2007], and a pair of From Zero songs: "Heavy is the Crown" and, a live debut, "Two Faced." From Zero would go on to score two GRAMMY nods (Best Rock Album, and Best Rock Performance for their comeback smash "The Emptiness Machine") and cement LINKIN PARK's status as the one-and-only rock band to surpass 2 billion annual streams in 2024.
LINKIN PARK: UNSHATTER premiered in Los Angeles last night, Thursday, September 24, at The Grove. Blink-182's Mark Hoppus, who appears in the film, moderated a post-screening Q&A with the band. Blending rare archival footage, candid behind-the-scenes moments, intimate studio sessions, and electrifying live performances, the documentary offers an unprecedented inside look at the band's creative process and enduring friendship as they come together to prepare for a massive new chapter.
Audiences will have the opportunity to experience LINKIN PARK: UNSHATTER in standard 2D cinemas as well as premium SCREENX, 4DX, and Ultra4DX theaters in select locations. SCREENX expands key moments beyond the main screen with immersive panoramic imagery, while 4DX surrounds audiences with synchronized motion and environmental effects, bringing the film's unforgettable concert performances to life in new, surprisingly synesthetic ways.
"UNSHATTER follows a very particular moment in LINKIN PARK's history and documents a path through loss, uncertainty, friendship, and reinvention," shares Joe Hahn.
