(Warner) One of the UK's most fascinating and fastest rising voices Nippa steps fully into his next chapter with his Warner Records debut EP Homegrown. It's a living mix of yearning R&B, hypnotic dance, swaggering rap, and raw soul that finds the North London singer and songwriter reconciling his humble beginnings with his ambitions as an international artist.
The coming-of-age EP includes guest spots from Blxst and Jordan Ward, plus star-level producers ranging from KAYTRANADA to Pino Palladino. Listen to Homegrown here. On the EP, Nippa shares, "Homegrown is about me staying true to who I am and where I'm from, no matter where I end up."
Homegrown is the product of a lifetime of growth and an intense year of soul-searching. The nine-song set is often celebratory, but always complex. Standout single "Bittersweet," produced by KAYTRANADA and Rance (Kendrick Lamar, Ella Mai) captures this tug of war perfectly. With a hypnotic hip-house groove, the track embodies the pull of the dance floor while Nippa moves fluidly between those ecstatic rhythms and his internal monologue. "Am I too focused, doing too much? / Is this a moment, or is this a rush?" he asks before surrendering to the night: "I am not that innocent either, I am just a bittersweet sinner."
Fans already previewed Homegrown's heady blend of personal searching and romantic longing thanks to a pair of previously released singles. Most recent was last month's "Kacey" featuring Jordan Ward, a glowing cut that contends that a glamorous, globe-trotting life simply can't compete with a hard-to-get hometown crush. The inventive music video used a split-screen effect to bring the song's dichotomy to life, with Nippa sliding freely between scenes in Los Angeles and London.
Meanwhile July delivered the title track, "Homegrown" with acclaimed South Central rapper Blxst, a nostalgic record that bridges two cities, two cultures, and two artists whose stories are rooted in community, perseverance, and authenticity. EARMILK called the song an "irresistible track [about] carrying your roots wherever you go," while The Fader noted that "they're singing about their come-up in the way rappers do, but the smoothness makes it hit much harder."
That energy prevails across body-moving cuts like the opener "Just Vibe" and guitar-streaked emotive expressions like "I'm Scared To Be Left Alone" alike. Nippa brings his Homegrown vision to life with help from collaborators including Palladino (D'Angelo, Dijon), Lido (Halsey, Chance The Rapper, Halsey), Don Mills (Kehlani, J. Cole), Camper (JAĊ¸-Z, H.E.R.), and KzDidIt (Amaarae, Stormzy), among others, underscoring his cross-continental creative expansion.
In fact, the release is a culmination of sorts marking Nippa's U.S. invasion. In July, he was spotted at Nike and Drake's headline-making NOCTA Manor retreat alongside other influential artists and athletes. In June, for BET Awards Week, he delivered a standout performance at L.A.'s TheBasement Series to a room filled with artists, tastemakers, and industry leaders.
But Nippa's hometown connection remains stronger than ever. "Homegrown" is the official soundtrack of the 2026/27 uniforms for Tottenham Hotspur F.C., the Premier League football club that represents the neighborhood the singer hails from. "This is a song for the community," he said in a celebratory article for the Spurs. "This feels like it was meant for Tottenham."
The same could be said for Homegrown - a project that is simultaneously meant for the folks back home, and also for the bright, globe-trotting future that Nippa clearly has ahead of him.
