Locked and loaded with 15 tracks, THE VILLE stands as Trap Dickey's most cohesive and fully realized project to date. Over the past few years, Trap Dickey has been grinding nonstop and evolving entirely on his own terms. Balancing raw emotion with confidence, he moves between introspection and charisma with precision, capturing tension, hunger, and self assurance throughout. More than a collection of records, it serves as a definitive introduction to his depth and versatility, with standout moments like "Keep Going" featuring K CAMP, "Glory" with YTB Fatt, the guitar driven "Slidin," and the introspective closer "New Philly."
Among the many highlights, "LA NIGHTS" shines as a standout moment. Flipping Weezer's 2001 classic "Island in the Sun," airy guitar lines drift over a smooth West Coast bounce while Trap Dickey layers in his unmistakable South Carolina flow. He leans into the momentum, asserting, "Treat the rap game like a race we dipped in," charging through the beat with purpose. The record finds him bridging coasts effortlessly, further introducing his Southern roots to a laid-back California sound while sharpening his artistic identity in the process.
The single arrives alongside a striking new music video, which premiered on BET Jams. Shot in black and white, the visual captures Trap Dickey in South Carolina riding dirt bikes, delivering a raw and kinetic backdrop that mirrors the track's energy.
On the mixtape, Trap says, "I came up outta Hartsville, South Carolina, real small Ville, but it made me who I am. This project is for all The Villes not just my Ville." He adds, "Every corner where folks had to hustle, had to grow up fast, had to figure it out with nothin' handed to 'em. The Ville is my community."
Last month Trap shared "Tell Me Why." Outside of reeling in nearly half-a-million streams, it earned widespread acclaim from the likes of HotNewHipHop, VIBE, and Billboard. Trap Dickey sent shockwaves through the game with the announcement of his signing to Top Dawg Entertainment (TDE). The announcement followed a strong start to 2026, including Trap Dickey's high-impact collaboration with Key Glock, "Down South." The track has surpassed 25M global streams, landed Top 5 on RapCaviar, became the #2 most-added song at urban radio.
